Jawa, Romba, Teebo, Wampa, Mara Jade and Oola are learning to walk and are getting better by the day. As you can see from this video they are enjoying being adventurous. Within a few days they will all be wagging their tails, too. It is very interesting and amazing to see these precious babies grow and change before our eyes. Their personalities are developing and some are more active than others and some are more vocal than others.

At 3 weeks of age they will try puppy gruel and should all be walking, seeing, hearing and waggin those tails. Before long it will be time for them to get their first shots and go home. Time is flying by.

Their mommy, Sansha, is increasing her food intake due to her puppies growing so fast. They are all 1 pound or more at 2 weeks of age. She is spending more and more time away from them and still taking wonderful care of them.

PUPPIES!!!

Ms. Sansha and her 6 puppies needed rescue after being found as a stray and giving birth to her pups in the shelter November 19th. They are now in New Rattitude rescue and growing every minute of the day and Sansha is a sweetheart of a rattie girl. She takes excellent care of her munchkins and enjoys cuddling with her human friends as well. We believe she is no more than 2 years old. She is very protective of her young, but will allow her foster parents to handle the young ones and help her care for them. There are 2 girls and 4 boys who are little dumplings. To keep up with them check out their photo album at www.imageevent.com/smiles4life/georgianursery

Calina the traveling Rat Terrier Girl

This michevious Rat Terrier/Chi mix girl is hanging out with Paula's Rat Pack this week awaiting her transport to MO. She is about 6 or 7yrs young and is quite the character. Calina came from a shelter in South Georgia and had been waiting over a month for someone to take her home, but they never came so rescue was needed.

She is a sneaky girl who jumped into the refrigerator for an inspection and wants to be with me as much as possible. She is a great little gal who is about 8lbs and should be around 10lbs.

So far she isn't overly concerned with her pack members and just wants human affection. As you can see from her picture she is just a cutie pie with a tail that never stops.

We will enjoy her a few more days before she heads to her long term foster home to await her furever family to find her. For more updates check out her photo album at www.imageevent.com/newrattitude/calina

Larry Fine - Found his Furever Family

Larry Fine was rescued from a puppymill in Indiana and came into New Rattitude Rescue in September. He is a Rat Terrier/Doxie mix who is selective in who he likes, playful, loves to chew and is a cuddler. A family in Senoia, GA is coming to pick up their new baby today so Larry is busy packing his bags and making himself perdy. Congrats to the King family for choosing Larry who will be a great addition to their family!

This is sweet Glembie showing off his playful side the first night we had him in our home. As you can see he is a nut! He is always on the go, but will come when called and enjoys being with his people. He likes to have a good time playing with his foster siblings or with the humans. He doesn't know what toys are yet, but likes to run, wrestle and play hand. What a character!

Help Fix Glembie's Broken Heart

Glembie was rescued on 10/11/08 from a kill shelter due to being full and his owner surrendering him. He is an energetic 10 month old boy who just wants affection, exercise and lots of fun in his life. When we took him to get vaccinated and neutered the vet heared a loud heart murmur. This was shocking news since he is such a fun guy and so young.

We will need to get some tests and a cardiologist visit behind us before he can be neutered and ready to go to a forever home. This estimated cost is going to possibly be above $600. New Rattitude needs to raise the funds to make sure this young guys life can continue and have a pawsitive new beginning.

Glembie and I thank you in advance!

Today I am working on being a blogger. This is a whole new world to me, but I have seen others and thought I'd give it a try.

I thought this would be a great place to post what's going on with me and my rescue efforts with Rat Terriers and for all my friends and family to keep up with me.

I absolutley love to talk about dogs and Rat Terriers are my favorite!!! I have 5 personal ratties and normally foster 1 or 2 ratties at a time. I enjoy helping others find the right rattie for their families and getting anyone interested in rescue to get started and support their efforts.

Feel free to subscribe to my blog and give me tips you experienced bloggers!
